Privacy notice

dangote.ke is a small reference website. It collects as little information as possible.

Who is responsible

This site is run by the owner of the dangote.ke domain. For any privacy question or request, email hello@dangote.ke.

What is collected

• Server logs. The web server records standard technical data for each request: IP address, the page requested, the time, the referring page and the browser type. These logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted on a rolling basis.
• Analytics. This site uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It records the page visited, the referring site, and approximate country, browser and device type, in aggregate form.
• Advertising. This site does not currently show advertising and does not set advertising cookies.
• Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and email address only to reply and to act on a correction or contribution. We do not sell, rent or share them with anyone else.

Family history contributions

Information you send about your family is used only to improve this reference, and only with your permission. Private information about living people is never published.

Your rights

Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, and similar laws elsewhere, you may ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to its use. Email hello@dangote.ke. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (Kenya).
